HIRA // natural kantha

red-bordered quilts are stitched with warm colours. blue-bordered quilts are stitched with cool colours.

kanthas are used in a variety of ways. use one to keep you warm on the couch while you cozy up with a book; as a soft surface for sunny picnics, or an extra layer during cold winter nights. there isn't a household (or baby) in Bangladesh (or a Bengali household in Canada) without a kantha. traditional kanthas are upcycled saris. HIRA is made from new, undyed cotton, and handstitched with colour thread by artisans at Basha Boutique.
